Idle power is higher than we would expect on the 40nm process but the under-load figure, which is also for the complete system, is over 40W lower than HD 4850, and well below both the NVIDIA cards.

A double-height cooler is overkill for the underlying GPU. It does perform well however, keeping under-load temps near GeForce 9800 GT levels.
