Have a high-end notebook? Is it getting a bit toasty? Lian Li's latest notebook cooler may be the panacea for you laptop's overheating problems, the company says.

The all-aluminium NC-09, available in anodised black or silver, ships with a massive 220mm fan that's powered from the laptop via a mini-USB inlet. A couple of further USB2.0 ports add a degree of peripheral flexibility, we suppose, and the notebook cooler can be adjusted into three height positions.

It's pretty large, at 400mm x 337mm x 34m (WxDxH) and is positioned as an aftermarket purchase for a high-end gaming laptop. Lian Li says that it will accommodate a 17in (screen) notebook with ease.

We like it and can see the point, but the $70 retail price seems a touch steep. Also, we'd like explicit control over the big-ass fan's speed: Lian Li's only control is an on/off button that toggles power-states.
