The word
Abit sends a shiver down everyone's
spine who has ever overclocked a cpu, without doubt they are the best. Everyone
loves them, they didnt release an
Abit
1st generation athlon board, instead they waited for the VIA KX133 chipset.
This board is a meer work of art. Abit have managed as usual to tweak every
last bit out of this chipset, with new pieces being revealed each time they
release a bios. Abit managed to corner the market with the UDMA 66 controllers
on BX chipset motherboards, and also create the first dual celeron (and only
motherboard)
In 1997,
Abit released the first jumperless
mainboard. Since there a lot has changed, and it is now in its third revision
of this awesome feature. This function, the Abit Softmenu III now offers the
overclockers more features than we could ever dream of. This includes the ability
to alter both voltage and bus speeds without touching a jumper or opening the
case. With the birth of this board came the worldwide urge to overclock!
The expansion features of this board are very large, there is a massive 6 PCI
slots for maximum PCI expansion. There is no lame AMR port which no one wants
nor needs, unless you gamers want a higher ping, there is a large lack of the
AMR uses!
