Antec P183

Antec's P183 and P193 have been doing the rounds for as long as we can remember, but the two new additions to its Performance One series have today been made official and are heading to retail priced at an estimated £125.81 and £146.83, respectively.

The P183, successor to the popular P182 and P180, sports a familiar design and features the dual-chamber innards we've become accustomed too.

Doesn't look a whole lot different on the outside, and internal changes appear to be minimal too. Measuring 54cm x 20.5cm x 50.7cm and weighing 14kg, the P183 offers seven expansion slots and 11 drive bays - breaking down into four external 5.25in bays, an external 3.5in bay and six internal 2.5in bays.

Unlike the P182, the P183 appears to offer only two fans as standard - a 120mm fan at the rear and a 120mm rear up top. The lower-front chamber, upper-front chamber and middle chamber fans are now all optional extras. Hoping to make amends, the chassis' vents are now wider and vents on the front door have been implemented to aid airflow.

Elsewhere, there are improvements to the chassis air filters and the mount for the optional lower-chamber fan has been moved alongside the hard drive cage to allow for longer PSUs to be installed. In terms of functionality, the P183 sees the inclusion of a front-mounted eSATA port and added support for Antec's own CP-series power supplies.
