Heads up to the all the overclocking fiends out there - you'll want to be at an open day at SCAN's Bolton store on Saturday, 16 May as BenchTec, the overclocking pro's you know and love, will be on hand to give you some free overclocking advice with live demonstrations.

Following that, they'll also be doing what they do best - attempting to smash world records with the use of large amounts of liquid nitrogen! As an official sponsor and media partner, HEXUS will be on hand at the event and we'll be filming proceedings for HEXUS.tv.

If overclocking isn't your thing, SCAN will also be hosting a range of gaming tournaments throughout the day that give you the opportunity to take on professional eSport team Team Dignitas.

Please be aware that all gaming sessions require registration - if you're interested in taking part in a frag fest, submit your application form at SCAN.co.uk and hurry as spaces are limited. The tournaments available are detailed as follows:

  • Left4Dead - open to a maximum of 12 teams, 4 People Per team with each match lasting approx 20 mins. The teams that win their heat will advance to the Semi Final and Final respectively.
  • Unreal Tournament - 2 v 1 a team of 2 People can challenge a single Dignitas player, the top 2 scores of the day will play in the final against each other and pick up 1st and 2nd place respectively. Matches last about 10 minutes, however this can be adjusted depending on number of applicants.
  • GRID Tournament - 2 v 2 Race off Le Mans Style, 10 Laps but with a twist! Customers have to swap over on the 5th lap however the Dignitas drivers have to swap every 2 laps, if your team wins then you will progress to the latter stages, if no one manages to beat them then the fastest two teams will race off in the final. If only 1 team beats Dignitas then they are the winners out right.

It's shaping up to be a day of extreme performance, and it'll be open to all from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, 16 May. Here's the address, and a little Google Map to help you find your way.

Scan Computers International, 25-28 Enterprise Park, Middlebrook, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6PE.
