Simple and stylish, says Lian Li

Lian Li has served up a bewildering number of chassis in recent months, but the PC-B10 launched today has managed to catch our eye.

The mid-tower offering, pictured below, measures 210mm x 440mm x 515mm and supports micro-ATX or ATX motherboards. Finished in brushed aluminium, it features a sleek lockable front door that although far from jaw-dropping, provides a sophisticated look that should sit well in most home offices.

In addition to its agreeable looks, the PC-B10 is brimming with traditional Lian Li functionality, too. The front door provides access to five tool-less 5.25in drive bays, below which reside two intake fans - one of the 140mm variety running at 900rpm, and a 120mm fan running at 1,500rpm. Both, of course, feature removable filters, and are joined by a single 120mm 1,500rpm exhaust at the rear.

Inside, there's room for four 3.5in hard drives to be housed in the PC-B10's anti-vibration cage, and seven PCI slots featuring vented brackets. The chassis' side panels are equipped with anti-vibration clips and foam padding to help reduce noise, and a top-mounted I/O panel provides quick access to two USB ports, FireWire and HD Audio.

Rounding it all off is a tool-less power supply securing bracket - which, of course, is adjustable for extra-long units - and Lian Li's promise of no sharp edges.

As a complete package, the PC-B10 looks to be one of the simplest-but-tidiest solutions to date. The problem, sadly, is that Lian Li's craftsmanship continues to carry a notable premium. The PC-B10 is expected to reach stores in April, and it'll carry a suggested retail price of $250 excluding VAT.
