The folks over at XFX seem to be hell bent on bringing down prices of high-end graphics cards. The California-based outfit currently offers its 216-core GeForce GTX 260 XT for £162 from Scan.co.uk* - that's one of the lowest GTX 260 prices we've seen - but it isn't stopping there.
Today, it's announcing its GeForce Core Edition range, a three-card line-up that it claims will provide "outstanding performance, speed and user experience - all at an impressively affordable price."
XFX states its Core Edition cards are the foundation from which all other XFX cards are crafted, and the first three to launch will be the XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ Core Edition, XFX GeForce GTS 250 Core Edition (pictured) and XFX GeForce GTX 260 Core Edition.

It all sounds good, and the official product page for the XFX GeForce GTX 250 Core Edition tells us it'll be shipping with reference frequencies, but we're missing the all-important info; pricing.
However, with XFX already selling its GeForce GTX 260 XT for around £162, we might just see the GTX 260 Core Edition slip under the £150 mark. Here's hoping.

a bit dubious about buying xfx but as its through scan and usually they are quite good with the whole RMA process went for it anyway
Don't XFX insist on testing the cards themselves? So whatever retailer you buy from it will still have to be sent to XFX for them to check that it doesn't work.Quote

So back on topic I would not have any qualms about buying one of their new value cards.Quote
The XT edition seems like a tasty deal though, given it's clocks. Bite or wait...?
