Covering hardcore tech all week, it is comforting to know that some companies have a softer side.

Yes, what you're looking at are two octopi kissing, so what's the relevance to technology, you might ask?

Each octopus is actually a USB drive, available in capacities up to 16GB. Magnets in the pink/blue octopi attract one another and, well, stick together, and we reckon it's a great idea for getting people to buy USB stick 'couples'.

Costing around 20 per cent more than a generic stick, you feel warm and fuzzy when holding the octopi - and no, it's not incontinence setting in.

On a more technological note, ADATA announced today that it will have a 512GB SSD 2.5in drive in its arsenal, boasting read/write speeds of 230MB/s and 160MB/s, respectively.

Apart from the feet, i thought they looked like pigs.
I know plenty of people who'd buy them though.
I recon they'll be big on the Japanese marketplace.

Thats exactly what I thought!!!! Should come with an ink well and a squirter for intruders. :)
No idea why anyone would pay extra for a memory stick the size of a tennis ball.

They might appeal to people who are always losing/mislaying things like this?

I think they're cute! Definitely more pig-like than octopus. I can see kids toddling off with it, though, thinking it's a toy… or worse… the dog chewing it up, lol!
