The Perfect Storm series is designed for Intel's Core i7 chips, meaning three modules for tri-channel operation.
Operating at a lofty 2GHz with 7-8-7-20 timings, settings which are also shared by at least OCZ and Corsair, G.Skill admitted to using Elpida ICs for these super-fast sticks.
The pack will also ship with a RAM cooler that uses a couple of 50mm fans, although operation at 2GHz doesn't require it.
DDR3 pricing continues to drop a-pace, to the extent that a 6GB DDR3-1,333MHz kit is available for around £80. Shelling out around £300, which is expected to be the asking price for a 6GB kit, seems wonderfully steep in comparison.
Would you shell out £300 on a 6GB kit? We'd love to find out.
