ZOTAC seems to be on a mission to design the perfect mini-ITX platform. Back in October 2008 it launched the itty-bitty nForce 630i, and it soon followed that up with the GeForce 8200-ITX in December.

Today, it seems ready to take the next step as its GeForce 9300-ITX is said to be shipping to retailers and distributors worldwide. The board, pictured below, takes NVIDIA's GeForce 9300 chipset - complete with GeForce 9300m GPU - and squeezes it into the tiny 170mm x 170mm mini-ITX form factor.

NVIDIA's mobile GPU is clocked at 450MHz and provides 16 stream processors clocked 1,200MHz. The board supports a choice of Intel processors compatible with socket LGA775 - that includes Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Pentium and Celeron - and the dual-channel DIMM slots can utilise up to 8GB of DDR2 memory.

Elsewhere, there's a single PCIe x16 slot, built-in Wi-Fi and a choice of connectivity options that include Gigabit Ethernet, eSATA, six USB ports, VGA, DVI and HDMI, too.

Looks a very useful base for a living-room PC, but there's no mention of pricing yet. With ZOTAC knocking out mini-ITX boards at a feverish pace, we wonder how long it'll be until we see a GeForce 9400-based model.

I really wish that, when Hexus is a UK based site, you'd stop reporting products from Zotac as shipping when no-one in UK stocks them (apart from their VGA cards). I've contacted Zotac before and various of their distros and no-one stocks in UK……

You just give Zotac free publicity and they don't serve the UK!! DOH :(
damnit Methanoid is that true?

I was just thinking how perfect this was for my new media center…………….

Edit: someone is :)

The AMD fanboys amongst us would probably claim that goal had already been acheived ;)

Now all I need is a mini-ITX case with a 200mm fan in the top to keep that chipset cool…
