When it isn't producing high-end memory products, OCZ also has a tendency to dabble with various peripherals.

Today, it's announcing its latest addition - the Alchemy Illuminati - a keyboard it claims "won't leave you in the dark". That isn't because it'll never tell you lies, though, that's because its keys can be backlit with either red or blue LEDs - ideal for not letting darkness get in the way of extended gaming sessions.

Measuring 215mm x 495mm x 30mm, the sleek-looking keyboard weighs 850g and features rubber-coated keys designed to improve tactile feedback and comfort with one fell swoop. There are 14 multimedia and web-based hotkeys, and it's completely plug and play so there's no need for additional drivers.

We went off LED-illuminated kit a while back, but this one actually looks pretty cool.

Looks nice, but leds can sometimes be too bright, esp. at night. Is there anyway to turn the brightness down on this?
If it wasnt for the oversized branding i would love this!
They're behind the times ;) My saitek eclipse 2 glows blue, red OR pink (er.. purple, yes I mean purple..honest)! And you can control the brightness via an analogue dial :p
Agreed, it does look nice but is that some kind of dial control on the palm rest? Surely you'd be constantly knocking it?
I was thinking that… my right hand gets a bit wayward at times and I don't want to be the cause of the internet failing.

it's pretty though, but I thought this had been done a while back?
