Introduction

Look around everywhere and there are definite signs that we're in the throes of a recession. People just aren't spending money with the kind of abandon that was prevalent just a few years ago, yet NVIDIA reckons the start of 2009 is an opportune time to release a couple of  high-end GPUs - the £330 GeForce GTX 285 and £395 GeForce GTX 295.

NVIDIA, however, knows that it won't sell too many of these cards through a range of partners, and the very fact that it now has, arguably, the fastest single- and dual-GPU cards is reason enough for their introduction.

Lulling the enthusiast who's just eyed up another student loan with sybaritic pleasure, we take a look at two cards that cost over £350 each. BFG's heavily-overclocked GeForce GTX 285 OCX and ZOTAC's GeForce GTX 295 are on the hitlist. Read on to find out which makes the most sense, if you have the moolah.
