In an effort to make its mice all the more appealing, Logitech has launched an ID Grip for its popular G9 Laser Mouse.

The ID Grip, available online to U.S. customers only, allows users to upload an image and create a personalised clip-on grip for their G9 pointer. It's rub-and-fade proof, says Logitech, and ideal for displaying your guild’s logo.

It's geeky alright, but it isn't just about making your mouse look l33t. Logitech goes on to state that the broad-shaped design provides increased palm and wrist support, allowing you to go on gaming for longer.

We can't see many users ordering one, and if you're thinking what most of the Internet is thinking, the answer's no - we won't be seeing a slew of hardcore mice. Logitech makes it abundantly clear that all uploads are subject to "Image Content Guidelines". Phew.

It would be nice if they could just sell us some new standard grips.

After less than one year of use mine is peeling and manky and I don't like the rougher grip at all.

And US only… booooo.

Really? i was thinking of getting one of these… aside from the peelage, good mouse?
Mine's been fine, tho I don't game (PC game at least) anywhere near as much as I used to. It still looks brand new and had a G9 since around release, whenever that was. It's probably the best mouse I've had, tho I still like my old Logi G5 which I use at work instead of a crappy ball mouse. :)
