Our CUDA/PhysX analysis earlier this week highlighted the fact that NVIDIA's GPGPU ambitions do make a whole lot of sense, and in the right scenarios the technology offers performance gains that can't be ignored.

If, however, you're still a tad dubious, NVIDIA has made available its second Graphics Plus Power Pack to let everyone see CUDA in action for themselves.

The 1GB pack, available to download from NVIDIA.com, comes filled with a selection of tailor-made tools and demos that highlight the performance of a GPU with CUDA acceleration - that's any GeForce 8, 9 or GTX-200 series graphics card.

The complete pack includes:

  • Warmonger - Two new levels, Tombstone & Asylum
  • Crazy Machines 2 - featuring GPU accelerated NVIDIA PhysX effects
  • Dark Basic Fluids Demo - by Kenneth Bugeja
  • Dark Basic PhysX Soft Body Demo - by Kenneth Bugeja
  • Screensaver - featuring NVIDIA PhysX technology
  • Power Director 7.0 Trial - featuring NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects
  • TMPGENC XPRESS 4.6.2.266 Trial - featuring NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects
  • Badaboom Media Converter 1.0: Trial Version - 30 free transcodes within 30 Days

Sound like demos you might want to try? Just interested in the screensaver? Take your pick at NVIDIA.com.
