It's time for another jolly big well done to our very own HEXUS folders who've collectively managed to rise up the Folding@home tables to become ranked 150th in the world!
To put that into perspective, this time last year we were making our way slowly into the top 500. It's been onward and upward ever since - we stormed into the top 200 this April, and having now cracked the top 150, the goal has to be top 100 by Christmas. So, who's up for a challenge?
If you're already well aware of Stanford University's Folding@home project and want to join the HEXUS team, our team ID is 69776.
If you haven't a clue what Folding@home is all about, here's a brief description provided by Stanford University, founders of the project:
"Folding@home is a distributed computing project - people from throughout the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer takes the project closer to our goals. Folding@home uses novel computational methods coupled to distributed computing, to simulate problems millions of times more challenging than previously achieved."
For a closer look at which teams we'll need to leapfrog in the coming months, here's the HEXUS.net folding statistics as of November 20th 2008:
