Corsair has today unveiled a new addition to its performance-orientated HX-series power supplies in the form of the HX450.
The unit, pictured below, slots into Corsair's professional series below the existing HX1000, HX620 and HX520.

Measuring in at 150mm x 86mm x 150mm, the Corsair HX450 offers the HX-series features that you'd come to expect - including flat modular cables and a super-quiet 120mm double ball-bearing fan that'll adjust its RPM in accordance to to temperature.
It'll offer up to 85 per cent efficiency and guarantees continuous power output at 50°C. In addition to a MTBF of 100,000 hours, it's backed by Corsair's seven-year warranty, and looks a solid solution for those who aren't planning multi-GPU systems.
No word on pricing just yet, but expect availability and a complete specification soon.

The really is no need to have the 24 pin cable modular equally if you have an 8 pin (or 4+4 pin) that has no need to be modular. It does annoy me slightly that my modular Corsair HX520 has both an 8 pin and 4 pin cable fixed but its easy enough to hide 1 cable.
Agree with you on all counts, especially with the 24 pin and 8 pin (or 4+4 pin variety), those are essential (understatement?). Again like you said, it is annoying to have both the 8 pin and 4pin fixed as in the HX520W's case. So would probably be best to have the 4 pin and 8 pin modular. Here's to if only!Quote
Enermax Modu82+, had one, yuk! Too noisey compared to a Corsair.
SPCR suggest the Modu82+ is the quietest available.. I suppose it depends on power draw though.Quote

Also depends if the model they had was totally 100% ok. Seen lots of posts on the net about the Modu82+ making strange noises.
Plus, some people, me included, are very sensitive to PC noise after trying to get an almost 'silent' PC for years!Quote
