MEdiaCOre or mediocre?

Pearing Core Systems has had a crack at making the home-theatre PC blend in to its surroundings, and it has come up with the MEdiaCOre.

The awkwardly named enclosure - which will no doubt be mistaken for mediocre - simply takes your PC and AV equipment, fits it into a wooden box, and declares itself to be "the future of home entertainment".

There's room for two items of AV equipment, and the bottom of the enclosure features a HTPC chassis that slides out for easy access to your components. Simple enough, and a neat-looking solution.

Trouble is, the enclosure itself - without the internal PC components, will set you back some $3,200. Nina Wadia's memorable quote from Goodness Gracious Me comes to mind; "I could make it at home for free!"

If money isn't of any concern, you can get the MEdiaCOre DLS+. That'd be the MEdiaCOre enclosure equipped with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 processor, dual Radeon HD 4850 graphics cards, 8GB RAM, 4TB of hard-disk space, and a price-tag of $7,100.
