Introduction

 HEXUS took a look at how laptop prices have plummeted in the last year or so and investigated the kind of options that currently exist in the sub-£500 market.

But why pay for a laptop when you can get it for free... kind of?

Numerous broadband providers are chomping on the bit to give you a free laptop if you sign up to various broadband packages for a fixed length of time. What's cool is that you get to keep the laptop once the period is up, so it's a little more than just a sales gimmick.
