Introduction

NVIDIA's became aggressive with the pricing of its high-end GeForce GTX 260 and GTX 280 SKUs, primarily forced by the introduction of AMD's Radeon HD 4870 and HD 4850 parts.

Indeed, such has been the cull on GeForce GTX 260 pricing, that a default-clocked model is available on pre-order for £164.37 and in-stock for £175.06  - a far cry from just two months ago.

HEXUS believes it fair to say that the Radeon HD 4870 and GeForce GTX 260 battle against each other on a pound-for-pound basis, albeit with NVIDIA's GPU being available in pre-overclocked form from a greater number of vendors.

So, what to buy if your budget resides between £175 and, say, £225? We take a look at BFG's super-pre-overclocked GTX 260 OCX card, etailing for £225, to see if strikes the right balance between price and performance.
