Palit Microsystems has become the latest manufacturer to unveil a customised Radeon HD 4850 graphics card.

It's solution, the Palit Radeon HD 4850 Sonic! offers a dual-slot cooling system with two-ball bearing PWM fans, dual heat-pipes and a copper base.

Unlike custom-cooled offerings from various other manufacturers, the Palit HD 4850 Sonic! provides pre-overclocked core and memory speeds of 685MHz and 2,000MHz, respectively.

Palit has also added an 8-pin power connector, which it claims provides a more sufficient and stable energy distribution system, ideal for those who wish to do a spot of overclocking.

The custom-cooling design is said to lower GPU temperature by up to 20 degrees C, whilst keeping 10dB quieter than the AMD reference fan.

It all looks to be a tidy package, and its pre-tuned clock speeds are some of the highest we've seen so far. Pricing is yet to be announced, but the Palit Radeon HD 4850 Sonic! should be appearing very soon.

This could well be the card I've been waiting for. With the 8 pin connector, I'd guess that it would reach the same speeds that a 4870 can reach. Review soon pleeease!
Say you're having to use 2xMolex to PCI-E anyway, how does 8pin do anything different to 6pin?
I bought the XpertVision Sonic which appears to be the same card under a different brand. It looks great, can't wait to try it out soon. There is a 6-pin to 8-pin converter in the box, it only needs the extra two pins for more overclocking.
