Introduction

ECS PF5 Extreme i945P Motherboard

ECS, a.k.a. Elitegroup Computer Systems, has been one of the most innovative motherboard manufacturers in recent months. A classic example of its innovation would be the ECS PF88 Extreme motherboard, one that was flexible enough to allow you to run S939 CPUs on an LGA775 board with the use of a simple add-on card.

There's now another LGA775-based Extreme board in ECS' lineup. The PF5 Extreme is based on Intel's trusty i945P chipset and supports 2 x16 PCI-Express slots. Possible SLI or CrossFire compatibility on a £90 board? Not quite, but read on to find out if the PF5 Extreme hits the HEXUS mark.
