Dell has launched its UltraSharp 2709W, successor to the 27in 2707WFP, and it's available now for $999 in the US and £636 in the UK.

The big change this time around, is connectivity. The 2709W packs HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, component, composite, and DisplayPort inputs. There's a new black-styling and the screen provides an improved contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a brightness level of 450 nits.

Other than that, however, its the same 1920 x 1200 resolution, 9-in-2 media card reader and 6ms response time as the older 2707WFP.

The screen has arrived at a much lower launch price than the 2707WFP, but at £636 its still a bit pricey compared to Dell's 24in Full-HD offering, the 2408WFP. That can be had for £422 and we're not sure the extra £214 justifies the small bump in screen size offered by the 2709W.

I could really use one of these, my current on-screen real estate is a nightmare
Need more resolution! This is same as 24" :(
a 27“ full HD….my 24” is full hd

Don't forget you dont just get the extra 3" but HDMI connectivity too, so PS3/360 etc can run through it :)
Hi Guys,
I have been considering to take a dip for Dell 2408WFP and since seen the price of 2709W, I am wondering if it would work just as well for vector graphics, maps and photos. I may use it for videos once in while but my main use is office type work & web surfing.

Has anyone got Dell 2709w yet and how do you feel about it. I heard that input delay is a big issue.

at £636 …. i think id be waiting a few years !
