Pictured below is a concept laptop from Samsung with an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display.

Though we doubt you'll be getting your hands on this 12.1in beauty anytime soon, Samsung hopes to be offering OLED-based laptops as soon as 2009. Who knows, laptops like this could follow soon after.

Without the need for a backlight, OLED-based laptops will feature much thinner screens. This particular concept looks like it could give Apple's super-slim MacBook Air a run for its money.

The picture, unfortunately, doesn't come with any details. We're puzzled by the odd looking panel behind the laptop, which we think could be just a stand to keep the lightweight screen upright, and the keyboard looks like something from Star Trek's LCARS interface. Still, isn't trying new things exactly what prototypes are for?

keyboard looks even more horible than the air.

PSION showed the world what a compact keyboard should look and feal like with the series 5 dagnabit!
Agreed. I don't think the keyboard wouild be very nice to use at all. You need some amount of movement on the keys.
The keyboard looks smaller than the screen.
Perhaps the “stand” behind the screen folds all the way over to cover both screen & keyboard?
To be honest, whilst it's all well and good making something really thin, I'm still waiting for folding screens so you can get a laptop that fits into your pocket.
I love that, I guess my tastes in laptops are definitely different, a lot of people liked the new dell model recently.

Oh well but that looks awesome.
