XFX Gear Gaming Headset

Headsets… hmm, are you a headset wearer or a speaker fan? I guess it all depends on where your PC is set up. At home, in it’s own little room, there’s nothing to stop you littering the place with cables and speakers to have a true 7.1 surround sound experience. Of course, if your PC is in the living room or remotely in earshot of anyone not the slightest bit interested in games, you’ll either have your games interrupted by cries of “Turn it down!” or you’ll be forced to wear a headset. And if you’ve ever attended a LAN, headphones are essential, not just so you don’t annoy everyone around you, but so you can hear your game yourself.

But headsets aren’t just for listening, they’re for talking too, otherwise they’d be called headphones, and the range of headsets on offer nowadays is mind boggling. We’ve got 5 speaker surround sound jobbies. We’ve got force feedback head rumbling monsters and I’m sure I read somewhere that there’s a set with built in mobile phone so the missus can nag you and feel happy while you’re away for a weekend LAN.

So now XFX have entered an already crowded market with their XFX Gear Gaming Headset. Now the big question is, what makes the XFX Gear Gaming Headset stand out from the rest and worthy of your money? Let’s have a look and see…
