SAPPHIRE Technology - the leading innovator of graphics solutions for the PC – has just introduced a limited edition ATOMIC version of its DUAL GPU HD 3870 X2 with a dedicated watercooling solution that makes it the fastest single slot graphics accelerator available!

The SAPPHIRE HD 3870 X2 ATOMIC Edition comprises two complete HD 3870 graphics systems on a single PCI-Express card. Each GPU has 512MB of GDDR3 memory, making a total of 1GB on-board memory. 3D applications such as games use both on-board GPU's together in CrossFire mode to deliver a single accelerated output. 

The exciting new watercooling solution on the ATOMIC Edition allows the graphics cores to be shipped with a significant overclock over the standard model at 860MHz, whilst still allowing more headroom for individual performance tuning. The slim design of the heat spreader and waterblocks on the HD 3870 X2 ATOMIC Edition make it the only card in its class to occupy only a single slot in the host PC. The water reservoir, pump and radiator are all housed in a dedicated module that mounts on the back panel of a suitable tower case in the position normally used for a 120mm case fan, above the level of the graphics card. The two water pipes have swivel joints where they meet the cooler block to make installation simple and neat. The watercooling system is supplied pre-filled and ready for use.

The SAPPHIRE HD 3870 X2 incorporates the latest ATI Avivo™ HD Technology for enhanced Video display and features a built in UVD (Unified Video decoder) for the hardware accelerated decoding of Blu-ray™ and HD DVD content for both VC-1 and H.264 codecs, reducing CPU loading to a minimum. The SAPPHIRE HD 3870 X2 is HDCP ready and is compatible with the latest High Definition displays. Like other HD 3800 series products it also supports HDMI with audio over the DVI interface with the correct HDMI Adapter.
