London, UK, 3 April 2008 – Buffalo Technology has extended its family of DriveStation external storage products with the addition of the DriveStation Combo4™ TurboUSB. With four types of interface - eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 - the new drive is the most versatile HDD on the market and is an ideal storage solution for both Mac and PC users wanting a high performance drive.

Two FireWire 800 ports enable high speed data transfer mainly for Mac users and the ability to cascade multiple drives. For PC users, an eSATA interface boosts transfer rates, making it quick and easy to move large files. Buffalo’s TurboUSB technology offers improved performance over standard USB 2.0 connections. The new chassis is in keeping with current design trends, making it a stylish addition to any study or living room.

The drive comes complete with free software including Memeo™ AutoBackup™, compatible with PCs and Macs, for continuous background backup and peace of mind through password protection. Buffalo’s Secure Lock Ware™ utility offers drive and file encryption for Windows users, to protect data through 256bit AES Encryption technology. Time Machine is supported for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) users.

The device will be available in capacities of 320GB (HD-HS320Q), 500GB (HD-HS500Q), and 1TB (HD-HS1.0TQ) and come with FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB2.0 cables.

Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo Technology, comments: “We have developed this product to meet the needs of today’s consumer who demands a versatile storage device with a choice of high speed interfaces. The product has been designed to fit in with today’s stylish PC and Mac models.”

Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the DriveStation Combo4 TurboUSB is available immediately from Amazon, Dabs and Misco at an estimated street price (ex VAT) of:

HD-HS320Q - £79.00
HD-HS500Q - £93.00
HD-HS1.0TQ - £161.00

Note: The device can not be connected to multiple interfaces simultaneously.
