If Megatron and Colossus got into a fight, Colossus would win.

We already know that Intel's monstrous Skulltrail motherboard, the D5400XS, is going to spawn some gargantuan systems, we just didn't think it would happen quite so soon. Only a single day after Intel announced its new platform, we have our first monstrosity; the Vigor Colossus.

Available now from California-based Vigor Gaming, this beast has Intel's D5400XS dual-socket motherboard lurking inside, along with two Intel Extreme QX9775 quad-core processors. At its default specification, the Colossus will cost you a frankly colossal $6,799!

Mind you, $6,799 will get you a black Cooler Master case complete with Cooler Master cooling, a 1000 Watt Enermax power supply, 4GBs of Kingston DDR2 800MHz memory, two Western Digital 74GB Raptors, two additional 1TB SATAII hard drives, two NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS graphics cards and a Partridge in a pear tree.

Well, maybe not the Partridge but you get the idea, this thing packs quite a lot. Oddly enough though, it ships with Windows Vista Home Basic as default - that's just criminal, this thing is clearly Ultimate, not Basic.

Vigor Colossus

Head on over to Vigor's Colossus configuration page, I've just had some fun configuring a system of my own. I even managed to get my total bill close to $10,000!

The good news is, Vigor will ship internationally but you may be required to pay additional shipping charges. Still, if you can afford one of these, you can afford the shipping I'm sure.

ROFL @ Vista Home Basic!
I just had a fiddle and got it to $14,100, without going silly mind you. Though do I need 2 47inch screens, will the 3 sli'd 8800 ultras power them?
