Replacement coolers for ATI HD 2900 and NVIDIA GeForce 8800

Just after the launch of ATI's latest HD3000 series and on the dawn of NVIDIA's GeForce 9 series, Swiss cooling solutions provider, Arctic Cooling, isn't forgetting about users of current generation graphics cards.

Announced today are the Accelero Xtreme series graphics card coolers, aimed as replacements for the stock coolers on ATI HD 2900XT/Pro or GeForce 8800 Ultra/GTX/GT cards.

Accelero Xtreme 2900

Featuring five heatpipes, 107 fins and three 80mm PWM fans, the Accelero Extreme optimises airflow and achieves up to 240 watt heat dissipation. Better yet, Arctic Cooling actually claim temperatures of at least 20ºC lower than the stock cooler.

The Accelero Xtreme integrates memory and voltage regulator cooling and its three fans are said to "operate in extreme silence".

If you need to quieten, and make cooler, your existing card, the Accelero Xtreme will be available mid-February (i.e. anyday now) and the ATI solution (Accelero Xtreme 2900) will carry an MSRP of €34.90 (excl VAT) whilst the NVIDIA alternative (Accelero Xtreme 8800) will retail at an MSRP of €32.90 (excl VAT).

Bloody hell that's big. I think I prefer the coolers that exhaust all that heat out the back of the case though, I still love the IceQ3 series from HIS.
