Can be solar powered too!

Available direct from Aleutia, the E1 mini Linux PC is now available at a retail cost of Ā£179.99. The E1, which Aleutia claim to be "The Ultimate Off Grid Computer" weighs just over a pound and measures a mere 4.5" x 4.5" in size. Using just 8 watts of power, a quarter of a typical laptop, the E1 will have environmentalists grinning from ear to ear.

It may not however do the same for PC enthusiasts, featuring a 200MHz CPU, 128MBs of SDRAM and 2GBs of storage on an included compact flash card, the E1 won't win any benchmark races. But then, it was never meant to and what do you expect in exchange for your 8 watts of power?

The E1 comes complete with a USB travel mouse and a waterproof rollable keyboard. Optional low-power displays are available in 8" and 10.4" models, as well as an optional roof-mount solar panel which will provide sufficient power to run the system! (On a sunny day we presume).

Aleutia E1

It's certainly portable, makes no noise, claims to be unbreakable and should do most day to day office tasks (running on Puppy Linux) without a problem. I think I'll stick with my current desktop however.
