20th Century Fox has made available the first movie trailer for 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie, a prequel to the X-Men trilogy, is set roughly two decades before Wolverine joins Professor Xavier and tells the tale of his violent past and involvement in the Weapon X program.

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the adamantium-cladWolverine and is joined by Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, Danny Huston as William Stryker and Taylor Kitsch as Gambit.

It's a touch over-the-top, but it should make for an action-packed comic-book ride that'll warrant a viewing. X-Men Origins: Wolverine reaches UK theatres on May 1st 2009.X-Men Origins: Wolverine reaches UK theatres on May 1st 2009.

Action wise looks good.
Looks a bit cheesey in places but it's probably good, at least Gambit is in it.

I think it will DC's year again though with Watchmen out in March (I think).
I seem to recall there's some follow through from the Origins novel…?
I'm wondering which way they will go with this. Wolverine started with the WeaponX project and was found wandering in a wood with no memory of what had happened to him.

Looks pretty good though must admit, first 2 X Men films were good, found the 3rd one quite poor with the usual hollywood killing off key characters.
that.
looks.
awesome.

no caps as my four day old daughter is asleep in my left arm :)
